CLEAN AND CLASSY
Released for holiday stays in summer 2023/24, after a careful reno. The owners have developed properties in Adelaide and Sydney and bought this gem in late '23.
It's our own beachside getaway that we gladly offer to your family too!
Cafes and restaurants are a walk away, or relax at our place with the new Weber BBQ and quiet outdoor space with nice gardens.
And after a swim at the beach, freshen up under the warm outdoor shower.
We think it's the best location on the coast, on the walk/bikeway between Port Elliot and Victor Harbor.

Watson's Gap
Fourseagulls is a short walk to the beach via a pathway through the scrub and under the famous Watson's Gap bridge. If you're lucky you will see the Cockle Train pass overhead.
It takes about 5 minutes to walk from fourseagulls and feels like your own private walkway. To the right there's Granite Island and Victor Harbor, and on your left you will see port Elliot. Take your pick!
What we love to do!
Here are a few of our favourite local things to see and experience.
Food
Locally, there are so many options. A typical weekend might look like this…
Walk to Port Elliot for breakfast at Cockles Café (on the corner of the main street), return via the beach or along the coastal walking path. There’s an outdoor deck and they are dog friendly.
Pies and donuts? The area’s most iconic spot is Port Elliot Bakery, where on weekends you will see a line up from lunchtime. Trust us, it’s worth it!
When in Goolwa you must go to Kuti Shack for lunch. Views of the surf one way, and the other direction you’ll see 2wd cars attempting to access the beach (many get bogged!). And the food is amazing!
And looking for (in our opinion) SA’s best Thai food – Thai Days. Reasonably priced, great service, and a menu to die for…we usually pick up and take it back to fourseagulls. Dine in requires a booking as it gets busy.
For a pub meal we keep going back to the Elliot, it’s so close to fourseagulls, service is good and meals are on point.
And… a hidden find for a great lunch or dinner is Lost Phoenix Farm. Only 10 minute drive from fourseagulls, and serves up seasonal shared plates.
Coffee
At fourseagulls, we love our coffee! So we’ve found the best in town. DeGroot and Yeo Haus are within 100 metres of each other, just out of the Port Elliot main street. Both have great coffee and a country/chilled out vibe. You decide on the best.
Yeo Haus also sells some cool clothes and surf gear.
Cockles Café also makes a great brew, and locally you can grab one from the Flying Fish cafe in Horseshoe Bay.
In Victor Harbor, we often drop in to Planted Coffee House – a tucked away gem off the main drag and it has a cool outside seating area for your beloved furry one.. Our tip – the ruben toastie and a piccolo.
And for a unique location, try Qahwa Coffee located in the old red brick building next to the Victor beach volleyball courts.
Exercise
Obviously, fourseagulls is located on the Encounter Bikeway, so either you take a left to Port Elliot, or right towards Victor Harbor.
Port Elliot main street is 1.5kms away, and Victor Harbor is under 5kms. We’re perfectly located in between both iconic towns! The walk is mostly flat and takes in some incredible views. In winter you may see some whales, in summer – surfers and dolphins.
Bring your camera!
For those more active, your bike will take you as far as Goolwa in around 30 minutes.
An even greater challenge is riding up Crows Nest Road from Port Elliot – look it up on Strava.
Swimming is popular in the area, with the closest beach being Chiton 200m from fourseagulls via Watson’s Gap, or from the Surf Club carpark. Either direction you have options of surfing waves or more gentle waters.
A quick trip to Horseshoe Bay in Port Elliot and you can jump off the jetty at high tide, snorkel around the rocks, or swim out to the pontoon.
We’ve taken the odd bushwalk from on the Heysen Trail starting at The Bluff to Kings Head. Spectacular views, generally not too busy, and you can turn around at any point. And grab a glass of wine at Whalers afterwards.
Golfers have a few options. We’ve played at the Victor Golf Course and Goolwa course – both are open to the public and not too difficult. McCracken is a bit more challenging and offers a hilly course just out of Victor. A 30mins drive away is Links Lady Bay which is known to eat golf balls, especially when windy! The clubhouse is also rather good.
Other things we recommend
The Cockle Train runs between Victor and Goolwa and is a nice way to see the coastal sights. Get off at Port Elliot for an easy walk to fourseagulls.
Goolwa Markets operate on various days throughout the year, and you can also take a Coorong cruise from the wharf.
Victor has a lot to offer. The horsedrawn tram to Granite Island is popular, and an easy walk around the island is good fun.
Plus you'll find all the necessary shops and supermarkets for your holiday.
